Inroduction

Facing History and Ourselves is a great course. This course gives insight on racism and a superior way of thinking to lead the student to better understand how and why the Holocaust happened. This is done through the use of films and literature. This course gives the students an awareness to their words and to the world around them. Facing history and ourselves focuses on the darkest time in our history the Holocaust. The student gets to learn and understand how Hitler got to power and how the mass killing of Jews came to be through an amazing documentary entitled A warning from history.

I am currently a high school senior getting ready for graduation. I lived in Westborough since second grade. Over the course my high school career I learned many things math, sciences, music, and history which just somewhat briefly covered World War II and the Holocaust.  I really wanted to learn more about the Holocaust then what the history book had coved so when I saw this class being offered I knew I wanted to take it. I wanted a better understanding of how the holocaust came to be. I knew seniors who took the course when I was a mere freshman and I could tell that they thoroughly enjoyed the class and that they took so much from it. I wanted that and now I have that. I am proud of myself for signing up for this class. I got an experience that I will never forget, everyone should take this class.
